Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on our website may include embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visit the other website.

Who we share your data with

Your personal data is stored securely in our database and protected by appropriate security measures. We do not share your personal data with third-party data processors or engage in any third-party website tracking.

Our hosting provider may collect your IP address and anonymous information web browsers typically provides. This information is stored for a limited time and only used for maintenance (such as fail searching or error solving).

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We retain any other data you provide only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or to comply with any legal, regulatory, or reporting requirements.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit this information.

Under applicable data protection laws, you have certain rights related to your personal data.

  • You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data.
  • You have the right to restrict or object to the processing of your personal data.
  • The right to data portability.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Procedures for data breaches

The risk of data breaches, as with all services on the Internet, is always present, but the probability is incredibly low. In the unlikely event that a data breach or other failure becomes known, our immediate practice is to shut down public access to our servers and services.

We will put in place procedures to investigate what exactly have happened, and measures will be taken to inform all affected parties, correct errors and restore secure operation. If it becomes known that a data breach has affected you as a user, we will inform you by sending an e-mail with necessary information and measures.

Changes to our privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We might not be able to notify visitors of any significant changes, so we strongly encourage you to periodically review this policy to stay informed about how we protect your personal information at any given time.
